Emergency Grants to Support WIF Scholars

We will distribute 2 grants per quarter (every three months) for the next 3 years:  1 emergency grant for full-time faculty and 1 emergency grant for part-time faculty and graduate students EACH QUARTER for the NEXT THREE YEARS.  If your application is not funded in a given quarter, it will be considered in the next quarter unless you indicate that the funding is no longer needed.  Grants will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the WIF Board of Directors.  

Maximum $1,000
Can be used for

• Replacement funding for travel to conference or archives if college/university freezes or cancels funding due to the research area of the faculty member
  
• Funding for travel to conference or archives for graduate students and part-time faculty members seeking to improve cv as they seek more secure employment and who received limited or no funding for travel 
  
• Funding for legal/immigration fees for scholars whose universities are not covering all expenses related to visas/green cards/citizenship
  
• Stipend for anyone who loses their position due to teaching/research area being discontinued
  
• Funding to replace federal grants that have been revoked or frozen due to the topic of research
  

 In order to ensure that our finances remain strong, we are working to integrate an opportunity for members to make donations to WIF as they renew their membership each year if they so choose.

This is a 3-year pilot with a review following that to consider the success of the program and the financial capacity of the organization at the time.

June 1 (Grants will be distributed by July  1)
September 1 (Grants distributed by October 1)
December 1 (Grants distributed by January 1)
